Two-time Olympic boxing champion Hasanboy Dusmatov has set new goals for himself. Now, the "Professor" aims to win the world champion title in professional boxing and once again reach the highest step of the Olympic podium. The interview with the athlete was prepared by the press service of the NOC.

- After Bahodir Jalolov, you have become the captain of the team. Does this mean you will be preparing for Los Angeles 2028?
- It’s still too early to make any assertions since there are four years until LA 2028. However, I would like to participate in these Olympic Games and earn the title of three-time Olympic champion.

- Will you have time to compete for the championship belt in the professional ring before the start of the qualifying competitions for Los Angeles 2028?
- Absolutely, that is part of my plans. I am focused on winning the championship belt in professional boxing, and I have sufficient opportunities to do so. Currently, I am the mandatory contender for the WBA title in my weight category.

- Why do they call you "the Professor"? Is there a story behind it?
- This name was given to me by my coaches Tulkin Kilichev and Rahmatjon Ruziokhunov during the finals of the 2022 Asian Championship. At that time, I faced Saken Bibosinov from Kazakhstan. The first round ended in favor of Saken, and there was some tension in my corner. I then told my coaches to give me my mouthguard and some water, saying that I would fix the situation. The subsequent rounds ended with my victory. My coaches know that in any situation, I can make the right decision and know how to act. That’s why I’ve been called "the Professor" ever since.
