Heads of regional agricultural departments will become deputy governors.

Additionally, a position will be established on-site for an employee responsible for ensuring food security.

The President has signed the Resolution dated 02.12.2024 No. PP-413 "On Measures for Further Improvement of State Management in the Agricultural Sector".

 

Within the structures of the Cabinet of Ministers of Karakalpakstan and the regional hokimiyats, a position of Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Karakalpakstan and Deputy Hokim of the region for agricultural and water management issues – Minister of Agriculture of Karakalpakstan, Head of the Regional Department of Agriculture will be established. Appointments to these positions will be made upon the recommendation of the Minister of Agriculture.

 

Additionally, in the structure of the district hokimiyats (city of Kuvasay), a position of Deputy Hokim for agricultural and water management issues – Head of the District (City of Kuvasay) Department of Agriculture will be introduced.

 

Individuals appointed to these positions will pay special attention to:

  • implementing mechanisms to reduce state involvement and enhance investment attractiveness in the sector by increasing the flow of private capital to ensure food security, modernization, diversification, and sustainable growth of the food and agricultural sectors;
  • creating conditions to meet the population's water needs, conserving water resources, and ensuring their effective use;
  • ensuring the implementation of rural development programs;
  • widespread adoption of digital (smart) technologies, organization of new jobs and services in the agricultural sector.

 

Furthermore, a position responsible for ensuring food security will be introduced in the territorial units of the Ministry of Agriculture.
