A decree from the President dated December 13, 2024, No. PP-434 “On Enhancing the Effectiveness of the Embassy of the Republic of Uzbekistan in the Russian Federation” has been adopted.
A position for the First Secretary – Representative of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Uzbekistan has been added to the staffing table of the Embassy of the Republic of Uzbekistan in the Russian Federation.
The main responsibilities of the representative are:
- to foster cooperation between the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Uzbekistan and the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia, based on mutual trust and universally recognized principles and norms of international law;
- to prepare practical proposals for developing cooperation in combating crime and ensuring public safety between Uzbekistan and Russia;
- to assist in expanding international cooperation regarding the protection of the rights and legitimate interests of citizens of the Republic of Uzbekistan;
- to collaborate in the fight against terrorism, extremism, human trafficking, illegal migration, and other types of crime, and to exchange operational information in these areas, among others.
The representative of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Uzbekistan will accept and consider oral, written, and electronic appeals from individuals and legal entities regarding issues of crime, offenses, human trafficking, and illegal migration in accordance with the procedures established by the legislation of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
The document has been published in the National Database of Legislation and came into effect on December 13, 2024.
