During the meeting of the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis, a draft law aimed at strengthening payment discipline in the waste collection and disposal services was approved in its first reading.
The draft law introduces amendments and additions to certain legislative acts, establishing new legal norms.
These measures aim to temporarily restrict the acceptance of electricity payments from consumers who have not settled their waste management service fees, following prior notification via a short message (SMS) until the debt is cleared.
It is worth noting that the practice of temporarily restricting electricity payments for subscribers with outstanding waste collection debts is outlined in the presidential decree "On measures to improve the waste management system and reduce its negative impact on the environment." This was planned to be implemented in Tashkent as early as this summer.
