A citizen was detained in the Tashkent region for attempting to illegally export over 1.3 million Russian rubles.

The citizen failed to declare foreign currency when crossing the border and concealed it from customs officials during the verbal inquiry.

An attempt to smuggle a large amount of cash foreign currency out of the country was thwarted at the "Farhad" customs post. This was reported by the press service of the Customs Committee for the Tashkent region.
A passenger traveling to a neighboring country caught the attention of customs officers during the customs control process. Upon inspection, cash amounting to 1,350,000 Russian rubles was found in the pockets of his jacket, which had not been declared and was not mentioned during the oral questioning.
Currently, a customs investigation is underway regarding this incident.
It is worth noting that, according to current legislation, individuals are allowed to export cash in foreign currency from Uzbekistan up to the equivalent of 100 million sums without restrictions, provided they adhere to customs control regulations.
