Previously, we reported on Dilorum Yuldasheva, who was included in the "100 Women" list for 2024 – an annual special project by the BBC. She has become a symbol of resilience by establishing a sewing business following an accident.
In accordance with the president's decree, Dilorum Yuldasheva was ceremoniously awarded the "Mardlik" ("Courage") order. This was announced during a meeting chaired by the president.
Dilorum Yuldasheva from the Denau district of the Surkhandarya region lost both of her legs two years ago due to an accident while harvesting. Despite her disability, she opened a sewing factory and provided jobs for 40 underprivileged women.
The president noted that some people with disabilities lack self-confidence due to psychological pressure. However, many find the strength within themselves to overcome difficult situations and display heroism.
"If we showcase such strong-willed and courageous individuals as examples for everyone, we have every right to be proud of them," said the head of state.
