Shavkat Mirziyoyev unveiled plans for the development of entrepreneurship and Uzbekistan's economy for the year 2025.

The President of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, held a video conference on December 20, focusing on the outcomes of entrepreneurship support in 2024 and plans for 2025.

Hotel and Trade Sector

This year, entrepreneurs invested 6.5 trillion sums in the construction of hotels with 24,000 rooms. In 2025, the number of rooms is expected to increase by 30,000, attracting investments amounting to 10 trillion sums. Additionally, 17 large trade and tourism centers were opened, with another 25 planned for next year. International hotel brands such as Swissôtel, Sheraton, and Ritz-Carlton will establish a presence in Uzbekistan, totaling 23 brands.

Export and Infrastructure

A company specializing in export financing has been established to support trade, with 350 million dollars allocated for this purpose this year. Results indicate that for every dollar invested, the exported goods amounted to 6 dollars. Next year, the funding will increase to 300 million dollars. In 2024, entrepreneurs acquired 3,000 state-owned properties and 4,000 hectares of land for business, with an additional 4,500 properties and 6,000 hectares of land expected to be offered in 2025.

Roads and Taxes

The transfer of road repairs to private companies will continue, with these companies taking responsibility for maintaining 3,000 km of roads in 2025. Under the "Initiative Budget" program, road repair work will be fully executed by private contractors. Stable tax rates will be maintained, and starting January 1, land plots and state property will be sold without VAT, while the excise tax on mobile communications will be abolished.

Borders and International Activities

Poverty Reduction

The country's economy grew by 6.3% in 2024, with investments in industry, agriculture, and services totaling 38 billion dollars, while exports exceeded 26 billion dollars. The poverty level in the country is expected to decrease to 9%, and entrepreneurs are actively assisting low-income families by creating 387,000 jobs. The president emphasized the importance of ongoing cooperation between the government and businesses for sustainable economic growth.

Future Plans

In 2025, Uzbekistan will continue to support businesses and create conditions for fair competition, despite the cancellation of certain benefits associated with joining the WTO.
