Experimental dual education: achievements over the past year.

In June 2023, the Tashkent Institute of Textile and Light Industry implemented a dual education system. Currently, 169 active students are employed under this system and receive a monthly salary. The institute has established partnership agreements with 78 companies.

In accordance with Decree No. PF-93 dated June 12, 2023, signed by the President of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, regarding "Measures for Establishing Mutually Beneficial Cooperation with Entrepreneurs in Reducing Poverty Levels," dual education has been implemented at the Tashkent Institute of Textile and Light Industry.

Dual education is a type of training where the theoretical part of the preparation takes place in an educational organization, while the practical part occurs at the workplace.

As part of the experimental program "Master of the Profession," 34 students from the 3rd and 4th years of the institute have begun their studies under the dual education system. Order No. 390 dated August 25, 2023, stated that this system will be used as a trial for students in the 3rd and 4th years.

In line with the tasks outlined in paragraph 13 of the resolution No. 32 from the video conference held in an expanded format on June 20, 2024, the phased organization of the educational process based on the dual education system, taking into account the characteristics of educational fields, will commence in cooperation with enterprises and organizations affiliated with higher engineering educational institutions starting from the 2024/2025 academic year.

To fulfill these tasks, a series of activities are being conducted in collaboration with the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Innovations and industrial enterprises regarding the implementation of the "Dual System" in the education of students at the Tashkent Institute of Textile and Light Industry.

In the 2023/2024 academic year, 793 students from the 3rd year and 853 students from the 4th year across 24 educational fields, totaling 1,646 students, will study 72 courses under the dual education system "Classant" of the industry enterprises. Experienced specialists from the enterprises and professors will conduct practical training in their respective disciplines.

206 students who studied under the "Professional" dual education system were employed and received a monthly salary during their studies.

In this academic year, 122 graduates who studied under the dual education system continued their work at the enterprises involved in dual education, while more than 50% of the remaining students are employed at companies in their permanent residence areas.

In the 2024-2025 academic year, 610 students from the 3rd year and 641 students from the 4th year of the engineering faculty were accepted for studies under the dual education system.

As a result, the institute has signed cooperation agreements with 78 industry enterprises, and branches of relevant departments have been established at 14 industry enterprises.

Currently, 169 active students are employed and receiving a monthly salary while undergoing training in the dual education system.

Partner enterprises actively involved in the organization of dual education include LLC "Apitex," LLC "Real Tex Tashkent," LLC "UzTex Tashkent," LLC "Zelal Tex," LLC "Sedat Triko," LLC "Nur Tex," LLC "Kiyim Tex," LLC "Natural Leather," NMU Uzbekistan, LLC "Colorpack," and LLC "Virtus Trikot."

The following results have been achieved in the process of establishing the dual education system:

  1. Students and graduates who studied under the dual education system acquire practical skills and qualifications necessary for successful employment. This is evidenced by the fact that 122 graduates continue to work in companies that participated in dual education, and more than 50% of the remaining students are employed in companies in their permanent residence areas.

  2. There is now an opportunity to organize short-term and long-term internships for teachers at modern industrial enterprises without interrupting their production activities.

  3. It has become possible to identify the current staffing needs of industry enterprises and organize production practices and training in accordance with these needs.
