The star of "The Magnificent Century" admitted that she deeply regrets participating in the series.

The popularity of the series "Magnificent Century" brought Meryem Uzerli worldwide fame; however, the actress admits that this role became a challenging trial for her. In an interview with film critic Ilona Egiazaryan, Meryem shared that filming the series negatively impacted her personal life and emotional well-being.

The Turkish-German actress, theater and film star, and model confessed that she has struggled to establish a personal life. She doesn’t consider herself a good mother, but she strives every day to be the best version of herself.

Egiazaryan believes that the harsh conditions during the filming of "Magnificent Century" are to blame. According to her, it was Meryem's participation in the project that prevented Hürrem Sultan from building her own family in real life.

Many experts also agree that the 16-hour work shifts contributed to the breakdown of Meryem Uzerli's relationship with the father of her first daughter, Can Ateş. As per Egiazaryan, Ateş had a controversial reputation, and many warned Meryem about it. However, immersed in work, she couldn’t assess the situation in time.

It’s worth noting that the actress is raising two children. In 2014, she gave birth to her daughter Lara with Turkish businessman Can Ateş, but the marriage ended. In 2021, her second child was born, and the celebrity has yet to reveal the father's name.
