What did Amir Timur really look like? Here are some photos that reveal his true appearance.

The image of the great conqueror Amir Timur, crafted by his contemporaries and supported by scientific research, forms a complex mosaic where historical accounts intertwine with anthropological findings.

One of the earliest and most detailed descriptions of Timur's appearance comes from his contemporary, the historian Ibn Arabshah. He portrays Timur as a tall, robust man with a striking appearance and a strong character. His physical strength and courage were particularly impressive. Ibn Arabshah noted: "Timur was well-built, of tall stature, had a prominent forehead, a large head, a powerful voice, and his strength was equal to his bravery; a vivid flush enlivened the whiteness of his face."

An anthropological study conducted by M. M. Gerasimov confirmed this. Timur's height was indeed around 172 cm, and he was physically developed with robust health. Researchers were also able to identify certain features of his skull and skeleton that indicated his strong health and active lifestyle.
