Chevrolet Monza for a song: In Uzbekistan, there's a desire to create the ultimate song celebrating Tashkent.

The Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Uzbekistan has announced a nationwide contest to create the best song about the capital city – Tashkent. The author of the musical piece deemed the winner will be awarded a Chevrolet Monza car.

The contest is aimed at professional artists who are at least 18 years old. Only original compositions that have not been publicly performed before are eligible for the competition. The Ministry of Culture has not yet provided detailed information regarding additional evaluation criteria for the song entries.

Applications from participants will be accepted until January 15, 2025. A preliminary review of the contest works is scheduled for January 27, with the official awards ceremony for the winners taking place the following day, January 28.

This initiative from the Ministry of Culture follows a recent proposal from the department to introduce a procedure for reviewing concert programs to ensure they align with national traditions and levels of patriotism.
