On December 16 of this year, a presidential decree was adopted regarding "Measures to Improve the Tourist Infrastructure and Construct Modern Service and Tourist Facilities in the Mountain-Recreational Areas of the Surkhandarya Region".
The first of these will be the "Omonkhona" tourist center, which will be located on land parcels totaling 220.5 hectares in the Baysun district.
The second facility, the "Sangardak" tourist center, will be situated in the Saryasiya district, covering an area of 615 hectares.
The third center, "Obikhayat", will be built on the coastal area of the Oktapa reservoir in the "Obikhayat" neighborhood of the Jarkurgan district, on land parcels of 110 hectares.
Additionally, a Directorate for the Development and Management of the Tourist Infrastructure of the Surkhandarya Region will be established, functioning as a state institution to oversee the development and management of the "Omonkhona", "Sangardak", and "Obikhayat" tourist centers.
An electronic online auction will be organized for conducting entrepreneurial and urban development activities in the tourist centers. Vacant land parcels will be put up for auction, which can be purchased or leased.
Auction participants will be offered payment installment terms of up to 10 years. This will enable investors to construct hotels, family guest houses, service complexes, and recreation areas in the specified territories between 2025 and 2027, attracting private investments.
