In the coming year, plans are in place to privatize an additional 4,500 assets and sell 6,000 hectares of land. There is also consideration for increasing private sector involvement in the repair and maintenance of roads. In addition to the 260 km of highways currently serviced by private companies, there are plans to transfer approximately 3,000 km of roads. All repair work under the "Initiative Budget" project will be carried out by private contractors, including the construction of 841 km of local roads with the support of the Asian Development Bank.
Furthermore, the railway sector is expected to continue its modernization efforts. It is anticipated that digitalization and improved efficiency will reduce cargo delivery times by 40%. Additionally, the period for free unloading of goods at railway stations will be extended from two hours to three days, which preliminary estimates suggest will save 57 billion sums annually.
The number of private airlines has increased to 14, and this year they imported 22 aircraft — 6 cargo and 16 passenger planes. The airports of Bukhara and Namangan have already been transferred to the management of private companies, while tenders for the management of the Andijan and Urgench airports are ongoing.
